§ 66-66. Funeral leave with pay.

  • In the case of the death of the husband, wife, child, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law or father-in-law, or in the case of death of any other relative residing in the immediate household, the member shall be allowed two days funeral leave with regular pay without deduction from his accumulated vacation or sick leave. In the case of death of a sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece or first cousin of the member or spouse, the member shall be allowed one day funeral leave with regular pay without deduction from his accumulated vacation or sick leave. In addition, the employee may be allowed by the police chief to use two days of his accumulated sick leave in the case of death of any of these persons.
