§ 2-531. Created; composition; appointment, term and compensation of members; filling vacancies.

There is created the "Municipal Beautification Commission of Charleston." The commission shall consist of 12 members who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council. All members shall be appointed for terms of three years each and until their successors are duly appointed and qualified; and, to provide staggered terms of office, four members shall be appointed on or before September 19 of each year, to take office on September 19 of the year in which appointed. Vacancies occurring other than by reason of expiration of term of office shall be filled for the unexpired term only. Members shall serve without compensation.
